What is DISC?

DISC is a model of 4 behavioural styles, developed on the basis of research by an American psychologist, William Marston. He analysed human behaviour in a specific environment and in specific situations. It turned out that there is a repetition in people with similar styles of behaviour.

For example, some will be more focused on the task and others on the person, some will focus more on the goal, while others will be focused on the process, some will naturally take the initiative, while others will act efficiently in response to clearly defined expectations of action, some will refer to solutions in conversation, while others will focus on analysing the problem, etc.

What are the behaviour styles of the DISC?

The DISC model is a universal language of behaviour. According to research, behavioural traits can be grouped into four main categories with varying degrees of intensity. People with similar styles tend to exhibit specific behavioural traits that are typical of a particular style.

Each tested person has four styles in them, but with different intensities.

The acronym DISC describes the behaviour of people through four behaviour styles (behaviour types):
D = Dominant, firm;
I = Influential, inspiring;
S = Steady, composed;
C = Accurate, conscientious.

Depending on the intensity of individual styles and their combinations, the level of proactivity and reactivity of a given person, task orientation or human mindset depends. It also determines the personal reaction to changes, the way decisions are made, and the style of communication.
Using the metaphor of an iceberg, the DISC D3 competency test examines not only a person’s behaviour that can be observed with the naked eye, e.g. preferred communication style, relationships, people’s behaviour in crisis situations, proactive, reactive attitude, but also what is below the water level, what is not visible, and what affects behaviour, e.g. preferred TEAMS team roles, VALUES,  intrinsic motivations of BAI.

What does the DISC D3 show?

The different layers of the study answer the following questions:
DISC
How do I communicate? How do I behave? How do I respond to the behaviour of others?
TEAMS
What are my strengths?
VALUES
Why do I act like this? Why do I make such decisions?
BAI
Why do I expect this? Which direction am I heading?

Does the DISC D3 test show you how to plan your career?

The DISC D3 competency tests can support you in determining your development path.

DISC D3 diagnoses a person’s natural resources, i.e. strengths and potential limitations. This is information that supports you in setting the path of development. We know in which direction a person prefers to develop, what support they may need to prove themselves in a given role, and when they will not fully use their potential.

What are the benefits of the DISC D3 test?

Testing with the DISC diagnostic tool is the first step in understanding how individuals prefer to act and communicate. The test consists of a series of questions that assess how respondents most often react in different situations.
Deepening your self-knowledge with the DISC D3 diagnostic tool can be used to adjust your career path, choose your own and improve the satisfaction of your current professional life.

It can support you in working on an important goal or understanding the conflict. It allows you to determine the person’s strengths and check in which area to use them. It will allow you to name potential areas for development and areas for improving relations and cooperation.

This tool is used in companies, as well as in personal life, education and family relationships. Getting to know the style of your partner or family members supports communication and bonding. Understanding ourselves and our own reactions, as well as the behaviour of others, makes our lives easier and closer to each other.

What does a detailed interpretation of test results give?

After the DISC/DISC D3 test, it is crucial to properly understand and interpret the results. These results provide valuable information about strengths and areas that need to be developed. We can rely on knowledge that will lead us to make decisions and choose a career path, a role – corresponding to our natural inclinations and competences.

What are the benefits of the DISC KIDS test?

The DISC KIDS children’s profile was created for children between 7 and 12 years of age. It is written in simple language and is designed to help children understand who they are and why they and those around them think and behave in a certain way.

As with any issue, an adult can have a big impact on the process of understanding a child, especially when it comes to such intricate issues as personality.

The DISC Kids study was designed to help better understand the differences in child-parent/caregiver communication. The report will show why the relationship with one child develops intuitively, and with the other requires more effort. It will make it easier to understand where your child’s need for more attention comes from and how to respond to it.  DISC Kids will show you how to talk to your child effectively, which will reduce tension and frustration in the relationship.
Together with their children, parents can learn to understand and appreciate their differences and similarities, and work together to improve relationships and mutual understanding.

What will the DISC KIDS test give to the child?

The children’s profile will allow your child to start a great adventure with self-discovery. It examines the child’s personality, what the child likes and dislikes, how they talk to others and how they would like others to talk to them.
For many years, people tried to understand the human personality. It shows what our view of life is and helps us understand how we react to people and tasks, what interpersonal relationships, challenges, changes, details and decisions to make are for us. In order to understand personality, it had to be simplified a bit.
For this purpose, it has been divided into four types. The DISC KIDS profile will explain to your child what the four basic personality types are and how they mix with each other, making each of us different and unique. Once a child understands what makes them different from some people but at the same time similar to others, they will get to know and understand themselves better.

Understanding personality differences is key to building strong, harmonious bonds, in agreement with who we are. DISC Kids is a support in discovering the unique talents and needs of a child.
